Hunter Design School Exhibition Concept

October 17, 2019 — November 28, 2019

About the project:

In this project, we were asked to design and produce a concept for the end of year school exhibition, and the owner and the design teachers would critic our work and the best one was the concept used for the exhibition.

We were to research the company (Hunter Design School) and look into its history. We were given logos, colours and other key elements to help with our design concepts. We needed to come up with a creative way of presenting our portfolios of work, and there were graphic and interior design portfolios to work with.

For the concept, we were to work with the colours provided, but to come up with a creative name for the exhibition. Mine was called ‘Contenta,’ which translates to happy. During my research process, I found that there was a lot of yellow, not only in the given colours but also just everywhere, and yellow is a bright, happy colour, and I also found that, even with all the stress, everyone was still happy doing the design work and creating their own stuff. So I linked the two and did some more research on what words mean happy/happiness and I found contenta after going through google translate.

We were required to work with the space of the design studio and had to imagine how it would all hang and place.

We had many review meetings with the owner and design teachers, until the final presentation, which is where they would pick their favourite, mine sadly wasn’t the favourite because I went a little too far out of the bubble that the owner was trying to stay within.
